I saw this lovely idea posted in Natural Home magazine this morning and I thought it was a great step in the right direction…
“The “Eat Healthy Rebate” allows up to $100 for individual contracts and $200 for families who have a produce share in a CSA and who are spending the equivalent of the rebate or more on their produce.”
Accordng to the Wisconsin website about the program:
“As a part of the Good Health Bonus program, the Eat Healthy Rebate allows members to apply their Good Health Bonus rebate to the cost of a produce share from a Madison Area Community Supported Agriculture Coalition (MACSAC) or FRESH Food Connection farm. ”
This is great news for lower income families for whom government assistance usually only funds more unhealthy food choices. It’s great for everyone else too!
