Dr Sketchy’s Atlanta takes flight on Tuesday April 12th

Won’t you please join us on Tuesday April 12th at 7:30pm as we return to the B Complex for an aerial extravaganza you really don’t want to miss! We’ll be in the main space this time, with 3 aerialists on varying apparatus, as well as doing standard posing for your drawing pleasure.

Due to the larger, private space, we are now able to accommodate both photographers and artists under 21, so spread the word! As always, it’s 10$ to draw and we will have snacks and beverages to keep you going!

I Have Your Heart – a short film

I Have Your Heart – a short film

Dr Sketchy’s own Molly Crabapple, singer Kim Boekbinder, and animator Jim Batt have joined forces to create a short film based on Kim’s song, “The Organ Donor’s March.” The film will be created by turning Molly’s original drawings into paper puppets which will star in this animated stop-motion story.

Crabapple, Boekbinder and Batt are looking to raise $7K to help fund the creation of this film, and if you’d like to help them do it, you can check out their Kickstarter page.

Supporters of the project receive goodies such as puppets from the production and pieces of the set. You can also follow the project’s progress on the blog, where you can listen to the soundtrack, watch some test animations, and take a look behind the scenes: ihaveyourheart.com

The holidays have you stressed out? We have the answer… 3 hours of creative freedom, hot models, a stocked bar, silly games and cookies!
Join us for our last event of the year, in true Dr Sketchy’s style. Yes, we’re back at the infamous Clermont Lounge with the lovely Robin for another round of Sketchy debauchery!

Please join us Monday Dec 13th at 8pm. It’s 10$ to draw, photographers welcome, but contact me first as space is very limited.

The bar is open and serves em strong, but is also cash only, so please be prepared. Also, no photos of the Lounge employees, lest we wear out our welcome.

So you wanna be in pictures?

As of late, I’ve been getting a little bit restless with one of my side projects. I have this vision of how it should be, but have been frustrated trying to make that vision a reality. It’s one of those projects that has made me miss the creative commons of art school, because frankly, on things like this I work much better with a partner. Luckily, a kindred spirit has appeared on the horizon, and I am finding myself recharged, finally feeling like I can not only make my ideas come to life, but will also see them grow exponentially via collaboration. It’s funny how the universe sends things your way sometimes, isn’t it?

On that note, hey Universe, there’s this great project over here that could use a bit sent it’s way:

As a creative entity InByTheEye is a company I created which focuses on works of a mythic nature – those works being films, writings, plays, and events. I chose this name to remind me of my initial moments of inspiration and hold them tightly as the primary source behind everything I do.
